When families near Virginia Beach, VA are shopping for a new vehicle, they’re often looking for a crossover SUV that’s safe, technology packed, and fun to drive. Here at Hall Hyundai Chesapeake, we cannot get enough of the new 2020 Hyundai Palisade, but we understand that smart shoppers will want to comparison shop across automakers. One alternative to the Hyundai Palisade is the Honda Pilot, and our dealers would like to do a side-by-side comparison between these two SUVs.

The 2020 Hyundai Palisade is equipped with a 3.8-liter V6 engine that is good for 291 horsepower. This engine is matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission and includes an optional all-wheel-drive system. The Honda Pilot also comes with a V6 engine, but it only cranks out 280 horsepower. Both vehicles are capable of towing up to 5,000 lb when properly equipped, but the Hyundai offers a load-leveling rear suspension while the Honda SUV does not.

Cabin Comfort and Features

Both SUVs are capable of carrying seven passengers, but the high-end Limited trim of the Hyundai Palisade in Chesapeake, VA outdoes the Honda Pilot with soft leather seats in lighter colors, quilted stitching, and wood accents. Also, the Hyundai Palisade boasts 18 cubic feet of cargo space in the rear, while the Pilot only has 16.

When it comes to technology, all trim levels of the 2020 Hyundai Palisade come standard with an eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In comparison, the base model of the Honda Pilot only has a five-inch touchscreen and no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
